What is Futureproof?

Futureproof by Lifeweavers is a functional recovery programme for all seniors who want to kickstart or maintain a healthier, more energetic lifestyle.

Why should I join?

We believe that prevention is key to combat illnesses and functional decline. Futureproof can be used to maintain a healthy lifestyle – much like hiring a personal trainer, but one that has expertise in seniors and their issues. Whether you are hearty or have a chronic illness, physical activity is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, age gracefully and enjoy your senior years with your loved ones.

How is Futureproof different from others?

There are indeed many exercise programmes out there but most are designed by personal trainers. Futureproof is designed by our therapy team made up of allied health professionals who are medically trained and carried out by gerontology trained exercise therapists. Their expertise and experience dealing with seniors is gold standard and personalised to an individual’s needs.

What is the duration of each session?

The exercise therapist will spend at least one hour with you at every session. However, it really depends on the individual’s abilities of how much or how little they can do in that session. Our therapists provide personalised sessions and exercises will change as the client progresses.

Is it only one-to-one sessions or are there any group sessions?

We have one-on-one, couple and group sessions of up to 4 participants conducted efficiently by one exercise therapist.

What is the difference between a one-on-one and group session?

You will get undivided attention from the exercise therapist in one-on-one sessions, of course. A relationship is nurtured between the client and therapist for progression. In group sessions, you can help motivate or even challenge each other to get better. It helps to create a fun atmosphere where caregivers and family members or friends can get involved to encourage each other. We also offer couple sessions where exercising together creates a great way to bond. If you play together, you stay together, right?

Is there an age range for suitability?

No, any age is welcomed. We advocate maintaining a healthy lifestyle to combat illnesses or to keep them at bay for as long as possible.

Is Futureproof only about exercising or are there other issues or challenges the programme can deal with?

No, Futureproof is so much more. Our occupational and physiotherapists can deal with motivational issues and other challenges clients may face outside of physical activities. Our therapists are here to help you achieve your goals to the best of your abilities.

Do you have a trial session?

Yes, we do offer a trial session. Enquire with us if you want to try us out. However, results are more visible after a few sessions as advised by our professionals.

How much does it cost?

Each personalised home-based one-on-one session is $180. Each couple session is $300 and each group-of-4 session is $200.

How do I sign up?

Register your interest on this Waitlist form and then our therapists will get back to you as soon as possible for future assessment.

What are the types of exercises that seniors need to do to stay healthy?

Research has shown that it’s important to get all four types of exercise – endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. But no one size fits all. Exercises will change as the programme progresses as determined by the therapists. Our personalised exercise sessions by therapists will align to your goals and personal interests as well as determine and improve your functional capacity.

Can seniors with chronic conditions exercise?

Almost anyone, at any age, can do some type of physical activity. You are encouraged to exercise even if you have a health condition like heart disease, arthritis, chronic pain, high blood pressure or diabetes. Our therapists will ensure to assess your condition before recommending the appropriate exercises specific to your programme goals.
