Experiences From Pre-surgery Physiotherapy and Thoughts About Future Exercise Among Patients With Disc Herniation or Spinal Stenosis: A Qualitative Study

This study explores the experiences and attitudes of patients who underwent pre-surgery physiotherapy intervention for low back pain (LBP). The findings suggest that pre-surgery physiotherapy can positively impact self-management by enhancing confidence, knowledge, and awareness of exercise benefits, providing valuable insights for supporting patients in continuing self-management after LBP rehabilitation. A physiotherapist plays a crucial role, in providing structure, support, and inspiration to address challenges in achieving continuity in self-management.
