Chronic conditions significantly contribute to disability in middle-aged and older adults, with evidence-based treatments often underutilised. Rehabilitation technologies such as exoskeletons, virtual/augmented reality, and remote monitoring have the potential to bring evidence-based rehabilitation into homes, aiding recovery and long-term self-management. This study discusses the clinical need, efficacy, and obstacles related to these tools in managing prevalent chronic diseases.
