Functional Activity Scoring Tool (FAST) for Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis

Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are essential for patient-centred care, but existing PROMs with strong psychometric properties are limited. Language-based scales often face constraints related to written words or numerals. Researchers created the Functional Activity Scoring Tool (FAST), a self-reporting pictorial scale to address this.  FAST assesses the impact of knee osteoarthritis on crucial activities of daily living (ADL) and tracks changes in self-perceived functional status over time. A pilot study is currently underway to validate FAST in patients with knee osteoarthritis, aiming to explore its correlation with existing PROMs in terms of reliability.
