This paper explores the family perspectives on essential elements of effective home palliative care (HPC) in certain Asian countries, addressing the lack of synthesised evidence in this context. Key elements include comprehensive moral and psychological support, involvement of religious figures in spiritual activities, empathetic and continuous care, access to information and skills training, and assistance in overcoming systemic barriers. The study underscores the importance of religion, and spirituality, and addresses regional challenges in delivering formal home palliative care, which could significantly improve the quality of care, particularly in rural areas where families primarily provide palliative support.
