Humour Use in Speech and Language Therapy in Romania

Humour holds significant value in various professional settings, including the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) sector, where it aids both children and adults with specific or non-specific language disorders. This article presents insights from the first Romanian study on humour use in the SLT sector, examining how specialists perceive humour and the participants’ needs for enriching the field with digital and/or printed materials. The study underscores humour’s crucial role in speech therapy sessions, providing detailed data on its prevalence and the necessity of a humour assessment tool for effective therapy.
